Diploma in Pre Primary, Primary and Special Needs Education Timetable May 2026 (Full Schedule)

The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) has released the Diploma in Pre Primary, Primary and Special Needs Education Timetable May 2026 for all candidates registered under the DPPEE, DPEE, and DSPEE programmes. The examinations will take place from Monday, 4th May to Wednesday, 13th May 2026 across all registered centres nationwide.

According to the official timetable issued under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, each examination day is split into two sessions — a morning session running from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and an afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All papers carry a duration of three hours.

Examination Schedule Breakdown

The first week covers the core diploma papers. Examinations begin on Monday, 4th May with Ualimu/Education (Code 610/611) in the morning and Mawasiliano ya Kitaalamu/Professional Communication (Code 553/554) in the afternoon. This is followed by Elimu Jumuishi/Inclusive Education (Code 551/552) and Ualimu kwa Vitendo/Teaching Practice (Code 566/567) on Tuesday, 5th May.

From Wednesday, 6th May through Friday, 8th May, candidates will sit for subject-specific teaching methodology papers covering Geography and Environment, Early Grade Teaching, History and Moral Education, Arts and Sports, Kiswahili, Mathematics, English Language, Science, and Islamic Religious Education.

The second week, running from Monday, 11th May to Wednesday, 13th May, is reserved for Special Needs Education papers. These include teaching and learning methods for pupils with Deafblindness, Autism, Visual Impairment (Papers 1 and 2), Hearing Impairment, and Intellectual Impairment.

Important Instructions from NECTA

NECTA has reminded all candidates to report only to their registered examination centres. Candidates who arrive more than 30 minutes after the scheduled start time will not be permitted to enter the examination room.

The Council has also warned that any candidate found with unauthorized materials or involved in any form of dishonesty risks disqualification from the entire examination and exclusion from all future NECTA examinations.

All written answers must be in blue or black ink, while drawings must be done in pencil. Candidates are required to write their correct examination number on every page of the answer booklet. Writing names, initials, or any identifying marks is not allowed.

NECTA has further confirmed that examinations will proceed as scheduled even if any exam day falls on a public holiday. In cases where contradictions arise between the timetable and the question paper, candidates should follow the day, time, and duration indicated on the question paper.
