VETA Announces New Training Opportunities in Post-Harvest Technology Under YEFFA Project

The Vocational Education and Training Authority has released an official notice inviting applications for technical training in post-harvest technology under the Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future of Food and Agriculture (YEFFA) project.

The announcement, issued under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, outlines new opportunities for Tanzanians to gain skills in crop storage and post-harvest handling.

Under the program, VETA will deliver training through its colleges located in Kihonda, Manyara, Mpanda, and Arusha (Oljoro). The initiative is implemented in collaboration with AMSHA, RUATI, TAMA, and MIBOS, with funding support from Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa. The official announcement states that applications are open to Tanzanians aged 18 years and above with at least primary education. The training will benefit applicants from multiple regions, including Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Tanga, Lindi, Morogoro, Pwani, Ruvuma, Njombe, Iringa, Manyara, Singida, Dodoma, Tabora, Katavi, Kigoma, Rukwa, Mbeya, Songwe, and Kagera.

Applications can be submitted online through the official VETA website or by completing hardcopy forms available at the designated VETA colleges. All application forms are provided free of charge, as the costs are covered by the project funder.

Applicants are required to submit completed forms along with a birth certificate and educational certificates. Forms can be returned either online or directly to the respective colleges.

The application window opened on April 15, 2026, and will close on May 20, 2026. According to the announcement, all training costs, including tuition, will be fully covered by AGRA through the YEFFA project. Priority will be given to women and individuals with special needs.
