NECTA Announced CSEE Examination Timetable for November 2026

The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA), operating under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has officially released the CSEE Examination Timetable for November 2026. The examinations will begin on Monday, 9th November 2026, and are scheduled to conclude on Friday, 27th November 2026, covering a wide range of subjects from compulsory national papers to technical, vocational, and language options.

This announcement is one of the most eagerly awaited in the Tanzanian education calendar, particularly for students who are preparing to sit for their Form Four national examinations. The official timetable, referenced as REF. CSEE 2026, has been published and covers all registered subjects for the November 2026 sitting across the country.

Candidates registered for the Food and Human Nutrition Practical paper (051/2) should note that their practical examination is scheduled ahead of the main window, running from 12th October to 30th October 2026. All other practical examinations fall within the main November sitting.

What Subjects Are Covered in the CSEE Examination Timetable for November 2026?

The CSEE 2026 timetable covers subjects across several broad categories, accommodating students from both general and technical secondary schools across Tanzania.

Compulsory Core Subjects

Every Form Four candidate is expected to sit for the core subjects that define the national curriculum at this level. These include Civics (011), Kiswahili (021), English Language (022), Basic Mathematics (041), and Geography (013). History (012) is also among the most widely registered subjects, scheduled for the afternoon of Friday 13th November.

Science and Practical Subjects

Science subjects each carry a written paper and one or more practical sessions spread across separate dates. Biology has its written paper (033/1) on 10th November, followed by three practical sittings on 12th, 19th, and 25th November. Chemistry (032/1) is written on 13th November, with practicals on 17th, 24th, and 26th November. Physics (031/1) falls on 16th November, with practicals on 18th, 23rd, and 27th November. Agriculture and Food and Human Nutrition also carry separate written and practical components.

Languages and Humanities

Alongside Kiswahili and English, students may register for French (023), Arabic (025), Chinese (026), and Literature in English (024). Religious education papers include Bible Knowledge (014) and Elimu ya Dini ya Kiislamu (015), both scheduled on the morning of Friday 20th November. Additional Mathematics (042) is available for high-ability candidates.

Arts, Creative, and Performing Arts

Fine Art candidates sit Fine Art 1 (016/1) on the afternoon of 12th November and Fine Art 2 (016/2) on 23rd November, which carries an extended special duration from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Music 1 (017/1) and Music 2 (017/2) are scheduled on 19th and 25th November respectively. Other subjects in this category include Theatre Arts (019), Physical Education (018), and Textiles and Garment Construction (052/1, 052/2).

Technical and Vocational Subjects

A substantial number of technical subjects reflect the strength of vocational education within Tanzania's secondary school system. These include Engineering Science (035), Building Construction (071), Electrical Engineering (080), Engineering Drawing (091), Book Keeping (062), Commerce (061), Civil Engineering Surveying (073), Electronics and Communication Engineering (081), Manufacturing Engineering (088), Woodwork and Painting Engineering (074), Architectural Draughting (072), Electrical Draughting (082), Electronics Draughting (083), Automotive Engineering (087), and Information and Computer Studies (036/1, 036/2).

Official NECTA Notice to CSEE 2026 Candidates

Every candidate sitting the CSEE Examination Timetable for November 2026 is bound by the official rules and regulations published by NECTA. These rules apply at all registered examination centres throughout Tanzania. Here is a full summary of all 15 key obligations every candidate must observe.

1
Report to your registered centre. You must sit for the examination at the centre under which you are registered, unless NECTA advises you otherwise in writing.
2
Follow all instructions. Observe all instructions given by the Supervisor, Invigilators, or Officers of the Council responsible for the conduct of the examinations.
3
Arrive on time. Candidates who arrive more than 30 minutes late will not be allowed to enter the examination room under any circumstances.
4
Temporary exit rules. You may leave temporarily with invigilator permission after the first half-hour. Once finished, hand in your script and question paper before leaving permanently.
5
No unauthorised materials. Only materials specifically permitted for a given paper may be brought into the room. Unauthorised notes or materials may be retained by the Council.
6
No communication between candidates. Communication of any kind during the examination is strictly prohibited. Raise your hand if you need the invigilator's attention.
7
Write your examination number correctly. Your number must appear on every page of your answer booklet. Using another candidate's number is an act of dishonesty and may lead to cancellation of results.
8
Dishonesty leads to disqualification. Any candidate found guilty of dishonesty in connection with the examination may be disqualified from the entire sitting.
9
No writing on question papers. Use the last pages of your answer booklet for rough work and cross it out clearly. Do not write any notes on the question paper itself.
10
Do not remove or destroy materials. Nothing provided in the examination room should be destroyed or taken away unless you are specifically instructed to do so.
11
Use blue or black ink only. All written answers must be in blue or black ink or ballpen. All drawings must be done in pencil.
12
No smoking. Smoking is not allowed inside the examination room under any circumstances.
13
Answer in the required language. Write all answers in the language required by the paper, unless you are explicitly instructed otherwise.
14
Private candidates must carry identification. Private candidates must bring the letter identifying them as registered at the prescribed centre. They must not write anything in their letters.
15
Practical exam waiting rules. During preparation of practical papers, all candidates must be held in a designated room from 7:00 AM until the examination begins. The area surrounding the laboratory is restricted during this time.
Zero Tolerance for Cheating: Any candidate suspected of cheating, attempting to cheat, or assisting another candidate to cheat may be disqualified from the entire CSEE 2026 examination and permanently excluded from all future NECTA examinations.

Final Words to All Candidates Sitting the CSEE 2026 Examinations

Now that the official CSEE Examination Timetable for November 2026 is publicly available, all registered candidates should carefully study the full schedule and identify every paper they are expected to sit. Cross-check the listed subject codes against your registration slip to confirm there are no gaps in your preparation.

Plan to arrive at your registered centre well before 8:00 AM for morning papers and before 2:00 PM for afternoon papers. For practical sessions, remember that you are required to be in the holding room from 7:00 AM while the laboratory or examination space is being prepared. The surrounding area is restricted during this period.

If you notice any contradiction between the printed timetable and the question paper on your examination day, follow the instructions written on the question paper. That is the rule as clearly stated by NECTA and it takes precedence in all circumstances.

This is a significant milestone in every student's academic journey in Tanzania. Study hard, revise consistently, and walk into every examination room with the confidence that comes from proper preparation. We wish all candidates appearing under the CSEE Examination Timetable for November 2026 the very best in their results.
