VETA Releases 2026 Admission Results as Thousands Secure Training Opportunities
The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) Director General, Anthony Kasore, has officially announced the release of the 2026 VETA admission results, confirming that thousands of applicants have secured opportunities to join vocational training programmes across the country.
Speaking to journalists in Dodoma on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, Mr Kasore said the selection process was conducted in strict accordance with official government guidelines and established systems, ensuring fairness, transparency, and equal consideration for all applicants.

Over 14,000 Applicants Selected for VETA 2026 Intake
According to VETA, a total of 14,433 applicants have been selected to join vocational skills training programmes for the 2026 academic year, out of 18,875 candidates who submitted applications.
The figures highlight strong interest in vocational education, which continues to play a key role in equipping Tanzanians with practical and employable skills.
Among those selected are 134 applicants who are graduates of higher learning institutions, holding qualifications ranging from advanced diplomas to bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Their inclusion reflects the growing recognition of vocational training as a valuable pathway for skills development.
Gender Distribution of Selected Applicants
Mr Kasore provided a detailed breakdown of the selected candidates by gender, noting that:
- 8,776 are male applicants
- 5,657 are female applicants
This distribution shows continued participation from both men and women in vocational education programmes offered by VETA.
Morning and Evening Training Programmes
The Director General further explained that successful applicants have been assigned to different study schedules based on available capacity and programme structure.
Out of the total selected candidates:
- 12,942 applicants have been placed in morning training programmes
- 1,491 applicants have been assigned to evening programmes
These options are designed to accommodate learners with different availability and learning needs while maximizing access to vocational education.
Applicants Awaiting College and Programme Placement
Despite the high number of successful applicants, 4,511 candidates are still awaiting placement in specific colleges and programmes. Mr Kasore clarified that this situation is largely due to applicants selecting only one field of study during the application process.
VETA has assured that the placement process is ongoing and that efforts are being made to allocate these applicants to suitable institutions and training fields for the 2026 academic year.
Selection Process Followed Government Guidelines
Emphasizing the credibility of the admissions exercise, Mr Kasore stated that the entire selection process was carried out using official government systems and approved procedures.
This approach ensures that all applicants are assessed fairly and that placements are made based on established criteria, capacity, and programme requirements.
VETA’s Role in Skills Development
The release of the 2026 admission results underscores VETA’s continued commitment to expanding access to vocational and technical education. By selecting more than 14,000 trainees, the authority aims to strengthen the country’s skilled workforce and support national development through practical, hands-on training.
As the placement process continues for remaining applicants, VETA has encouraged candidates to follow official communication channels for updates regarding their admission status and college allocations.
